Screen is great, but the monitor stand is plasticy and has no height adjustment. Unless you like tilting your monitor up to face you, or you're a hunchback, I'd steer clear. Because of the non-standard fitting on the back of the monitor it's also hard to find a compatible 3rd party stand. Not the quality of design I'm used to from Samsung... :(

Got my G5 this past July after a month of searching for the perfect new monitor at the right price. I am not a game but love the fact I can have two documents open at the same time or watch Youtube while working at the same time. Just got the monitor, not bad so far. Huge detail they chose not to tell you on the box is that the 165hz is only for the display port not HDMI. The HDMI only gets 100hz. Wish they'd add that detail onto the box, very misleading.

I've had the 34" Odyssey G55T WQHD 165Hz 1ms(MPRT) HDR Curved Gaming Monitor for a year now. I'm more than happy with the picture quality, videos. For me, I'm not a gamer, I use mine for work, I'll have 12 tabs open, plus the 4 programs that I utilize. Set up so I am able to get to what I want with a slight move of the wrist. My only complaint is the flimsy mounting of the stand to the screen. The screen bounces because of a poor joint alignment & It needs a beefier joint/mount, it be an easy fix. I was unable to find the VESA bracket to fit this model.

I love this monitor except now it wont turn on after it times out. Pressing spacebar or wiggling the mouse does not turn on the monitor anymore. Need to unplug and replugin. Can anyone assist?

I use this monitor in my work from home position with a college in Boston, MA. A friend who has decades of experience in gaming and building computers recommended not only Samsung but this specific monitor because of the size and curve. Work gave me a 16" laptop, but most of the time, I have 4-5 items (apps and at least one Excel spreadsheet) open at all times, so I needed MUCH more screen. This monitor is just beautiful. It's the perfect size, especially with the curved screen, to allow me to see everything I need to at any given time without needing to shift things around. I don't know enough about the specs and technical aspects to talk about them, but the monitor is very stable (it doesn't move at all unless I choose to move it), it's very easy to read, even if the font size is relatively small or I have the view at 150%, it's never glitchy, it doesn't give off any heat that I've noticed, and the quality is 10/10 in features, performance, design - and about a 17/10 in value. I can't praise the monitor highly enough.

Buyer beware, not a cheap monitor and if the button on the bottom of this monitor that gives you access to the menu system for changing input sources falls off, as mine did, you will be told by Samsung that it is cosmetic and not covered. As a result, the monitor is useless if you need to switch between sources or access any features of the menu. Per the warranty: "The Samsung limited warranty covers **manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship encountered in the intended use of the product** and shall not cover cosmetic damage including scratches, cracks, dents, chips, and other damage **to the product’s finishes** that may result from normal usage." This clearly states that damage to the products finishes is not covered but this is not a part of the finish. It is a part of the functioning materials and workmanship. They went as far as to suggest that I had misused the button and caused the damage while I was changing the input source, which is an "intended use of the product!"

I bought this monitor in 2020. This monitor has many flaws including no auto input detection. Only has a HDMI output and a USB port that does not always have power. The button for menu adjustments is also very slow and has a long delay. Do no recommend this monitor!

Fantastic monitor! I don't claim to be an expert, but I know what looks good, and this is miles ahead of my 1080p, 60Hz monitor. I've had this for about a year or so, and it's held up great (though I don't move it around at all). Some people have complained about dead pixels, but I haven't found any on mine.

I've had this for four or so months now and am very happy with its performance for the price. I would definitely recommend getting an adjustable arm if you like to adjust the position of your monitor; the stock stand has very limited mobility. When deciding on this display I put little stock in its adaptive frame sync, HDR, and high refresh rate but have since come to really appreciate these features.

I bought this over as year ago and still love it. Im considering buying another to go next to it. I use it daily and the monitor itself is on 18 hours a day. A couple small starting glitches here and there but not enough to evben dock a point. Simple a great and gorgeous machine.

Bought one of these, liked it enough, and then bought another. I also bought two for my partner as he was due for a monitor upgrade. There's quite a lot of ghosting and noticeable motion blur, but it is to be expected for this price. It's advertised as tiltable, but it is not. Something to keep in mind. What a mistake! One monitor started showing issues with the panel after less than one year, give or take. Dark spots, brightness flickering and such... so I sent it in for repairs and it was handled wonderfully. However, as my first monitor was at the techs, the other one started showing the exact same issues. Now the repaired monitor is flickering and showing black spots again. I've registered both for repairs now... I bought a new monitor in the meantime, of a different brand, to make sure the issue isn't on my side, and so far it's working wonderfully. It is more expensive though, but honestly, you get what you pay for. I'm considering buying another and keeping the Samsungs as emergency backups as they will undoubtedly break down again. I want to love this monitor but it just... kind of breaks down after a while. Probably some manufacturing issue? Can't say I recommend it.

It is a nice monitor, but has an engineering defect. After about 7 month of usage the screen is getting of the frame. This is a commune issue and the customer support is dogging the fact that Samsung has a manufacture defect. You can search online and see that there are thousands of customers with exact same issue in exact same spot. Don't buy it.

Started out thinking I bought a great monitor. Not so. Monitor doesn't always connect to computer when it boots up. It will lose connectivity and go black and not reconnect to the computer until I have unplugged cables and reconnected them. I have searched for firmware updates to see if any of these items could be resolved but no luck. There is firmware for the other monitors in the group but not the 34". Save your money go buy a different monitor. Used to be a Samsung fan but not so much after this.

the monitor is a great monitor for what it is... for a short amount of time. i have owned this for maybe a year and it's lifespan is already showing the end is near. the entire bottom half has dark spots even though it's never touched or bumped and sits comfortably on my desk. the middle also has a random line about an inch in a half thick like previous poor reviews that is starting to go out sporadically. truly disappointing to invest in something and have it last just about a year.

the monitor is very fast and responsive to inputs however if you are interested in this monitor you should know two things. 1. the vertical (and to some extent horizontal) viewing angles are not the best, even if you are off a few degrees you will notice some 'greying' of the colors. 2. the color out of the box was very bad and it took me changing settings in windows, the monitor, and my gpu settings to get something pleasant. apart from that, it's a very good monitor for the price.

right away i noticed a dead pixel when viewing dark screens. very noticeable when watching movies. the bigger issue is after a few months one of the led for the backlight started to fail and constantly was flashing macking it very difficult to view bright screens like any webpage.

i recently procured a new gaming pc with a rtx 3060 ti. having this new system i wanted to reap the benefits with a most modern of monitor. 1440p, high refresh rate, and hdr would be of utmost importance. with this in mind i set out across the webland exploring the the many wares and perusing the reviews. having the highest regard for samsung i was naturally drawn to their items. having settled on the 27" g5 odyssey as my choice i set at once to the checkout cart with haste. i give this product four stars for cost to performance, but it is deprived one star for the inclusion of an hdmi cable and not dp 1.4

i have sensitive eyes and have been using the product for two months. - eye saver mode doesn't work. it's very annoying as they don't have levels - i can't dim the light enough. brightness=0, still too bright even when contrast=0 - on my other brand monitor, the blue light filter can be adjusted gradually. and when i change the brightness setting i can get a really dark image. - the black level setting in the menu cannot be activated. - i should be able to adjust brightness and contrast when dynamic contrast is selected firmware is up to date 1.006 please help

great monitor. nearly all of the time. it is very good, very large, and a great value for the money. the only cons i have with it are the little bit of backlight bleed, and this weird issue where sometimes it doesn't wake from sleep. but that could be due to the fact that i have two computers (a pc and mac) running into it at the same time and commonly switch inputs. also the stand isn't great, but it's fine. it is vesa mountable.

i love the monitor. the picture is clean and bright and all of my games look amazing on it. however, the stand this monitor comes with is a joke. it's short, kinda flexible plastic and has 0 adjustability. it's short enough that with my chair as low as it can go and me being 5ft9in i still had to put a 4in pedestal under it so i didn't have to sink in my chair to use it.

the monitor only lasted a month before it died on itself randomly one morning. even before then if i let the monitor sleep for a minute, i return to it having half of the screen blacked out. even before then the monitor itself is average. the resolution and picture quality is fine but the smearing is god awful.

i've only owned the g5 for a few days, and the monitor itself has been a fantastic experience. my only concern is the plastic stand it comes with feels flimsy and is not adjustable so the monitor ends up being aimed at my chest instead of my face, especially since the stand dips slightly from the weight of the monitor. i'm not too worried that the stand will not hold up, it's just disappointing that this is the worst stand i've gotten from the 6 samsung screens i've purchased in the past decade, of which i still use 5.

the monitor worked well up until a week into using it when it got a bunch of lines across the screen out of nowhere, without any physical damage. the repair seems even more disappointing as it has been over 20 days since samsung has received my product for repair and i still haven't received it back.

i purchased two of these and received them in excellent condition. however, after only a couple weeks the joystick on one of them stopped responding to 'up' which is necessary to access the menu. clearly there is something wrong with this component if it breaks after such minimal use, i probably navigated the menu only 4-5 times total.

superior to other monitors in every way. specs, performance, quality is way better than most competing desktop displays. was able to pick one up on black friday. no more eye strain from 144 hz refresh rate and low gtg. graphics look great. and the 1004r curvature also helps with eye fatigue. don't have to turn my head as much to check corners. vibrant colors. just an all around excellent monitor.

ive run through a few monitors in my days. acer. hp. and they all had problems woth dead pixels and coloring. this g5 is amazing. i use it with my razer laptop for gaming, school, and work. it has met all my needs. i have mever had any screen tearing. you should only buy monitors by companies that actually make their display pannels and smasung is one of them. finding the right coloring is a difficult task just like on any monitor. but im sure youll find. just got to take the time. 10/10. love this monitor.

Monitor is really great, curved design is really good for your eyes, colors are not oversaturated and overall experience in gaming and video-editing is better than I expected from VA panel. There is only one thing that bothers me, official specifications states that monitor supports DisplayPort 1.4, except it doesn't. I tried three different DP cables, I even checked if my GPU supports it, everything should be fine but menu in monitor doesn't show support for DP 1.4 and since there is no firmware update for this issue yet I hope that it will be fixed soon, beside that everything works.

after months of research into monitors i decided to hold out until the release of the g5 and couldn't be happier. mostly used for gaming on a pc with ryzen 5 3600 and rtx2060 super, the picture quality is perfect, the 144 hz panel is noticeably better than my old 75 hz display. in fast paced games its so smooth i can honestly say its made games more enjoyable. i was nervous about the severity of the curve but again this was a pleasant surprise, not only does it allow it to fit better on my small desk, for a monitor of this size it really helps take in the whole screen.

i got my monitor way earlier than i expected and it was on a sunday which is crazy. i think the design is interesting and the curve is not that notice able when looking straight at it. i bought this so that i'm ready for the xbox series x/s for the 120 fps. right now i'm using my xbox one x at 1440p and 120fps, but honestly there aren't any xbox one games that go above 60 fps. another thing is that there's no fps counter. compared to other monitors with similar specs this could be best in terms of price.
